Then there's the matter of Virginia's coaching vacancy. Numerous media reports from that state speculate that the Cavaliers will make a pitch to UK coach Tubby Smith and that the money will be handsome.
Smith tried to downplay any chance that he'll leave last week when the Wildcats were in Indianapolis, saying that he's happy at UK and not looking to leave. At the same time, he didn't say that he had no interest in any other jobs.
"What good does it do for me to say that I have no interest?" Smith said. "That only makes me look like I'm too comfortable in my job."
Smith already is one of the nation's best-paid coaches. His contract, which runs through April 3, 2011, will pay him $1.9 million next season. He'll receive a longevity bonus of $1.5 million if he's still UK's coach on April 3, 2007, and another bonus of $2.5 million on April 3, 2011.
But if Smith stands by what he's said all along, that he hopes to be UK's coach for many more years, he'll resume the challenge of trying to get the Cats to the Final Four for the first time since 1998.
With the Cats coming up painfully short in their third regional final since 1999, they currently are in the throes of a seven-year Final Four drought. The longest drought in the history of the program is eight years.
So, along with the mass of returning players will come the usual load of pressure, plus some.

B-Day Party for Stephen

Last night was Stephen's b-day party and some friends and himself came over to my place for some pre-going-out drinks and then we went to the show. Here is the link to the pictures, they include some at my place and the others are at the club (he even got on stage).

Tourney Time

Well, we are about to get it on this evening. TN looked impressive last night and we will have our hands full beating them 3 times in a row.

Here is a quote from one of their guys today.....

"We're glad to get another shot at them, especially the way our last game with them went," Tennessee forward Andre Patterson said. "It's been in the back of our minds. We had those guys beat, and now we've got them again."

We beat them twice before this year but they had one of their best players out in both games. They are back full strength and if they play like they did last night we will be in for a battle.

If you have ever wondered why they call the SEC tournament the Kentucky Invitational......here is why!

SEC regular-season champion and fourth-ranked Kentucky tries to win its 26th SEC Tournament title when it begins play in the 46th league postseason event Friday night. UK has claimed the last two SEC Tournament crowns and 10 of the last 13 league tourney trophies. The Wildcats have won more SEC Tournament titles (25) than all the other league teams combined (19).

As the Eastern Division’s top seed, Kentucky plays the winner of Thursday’s Arkansas/Tennessee game, Friday at 7:30 p.m. Kentucky snuck past Arkansas, 68-67, in Fayetteville, and swept the season series with Tennessee, winning 84- 62 in Knoxville and 73-61 at home on Senior Night.

SEC Coach of the Year Tubby Smith has a remarkable 19-4 (.826) career SEC Tournament record, having won five out of the last seven tournaments at Kentucky (1998, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2004) after guiding Georgia to the final game in 1997.

Co-Worker Seems Normal

I was pleasantly surprised to see how normal and not completely crazy I thought my little co-worker was last night on TV. Although there were a few backward moments and the attitude "men run the house" that I could not stomach....... all-in-all it wasn't that bad. The liberal family was too liberal even for my taste. The rebel son has a right to believe what he believes but he doesn't have enough respect for people.

That was entertaining and the CATS won again......it was Senior Night and Chuck Hayes last home game :-(

Bumper Cars and The CATS!

Had a pretty eventful weekend and start of the week. On Friday, I drove home to visit lil sis who is now 14 as it was her last home basketball game of the season cheering so I had to go see. I was actually quite shocked and surprised at not only how much she has improved but how much her team has too. They made the nationals and are traveling there in two weeks. It should be interesting, its at the same time as most people have spring break. I have included some pictures I took of her while I was there in the link below. On the way to visit her, a redneck two cars in front of me slamed on her breaks and the car in front of me and myself stopped in time as to avoid a crash, however the ho bag behind me (who had been tailgating for about 2 miles) slammed into the back of me causing me to hit the Honda in front of me. I was pissed but shocked to see it did NO damage to the front or back of my car. Holla Toyota Matrix bumbers!! It was unbelievable. The other people couldn't believe there wasn't chipped paint or a dinted bumper.

Got back late really late Friday night then watched the CATS on SAT win SEC title #43......that NASTY. The last two weekends have looked very promising. 68% three point shooting for the day was a new UK record for a single game......we can't even shoot that percentage from the free throw line. I'm thinking of trying to get tickets for Atlanta, any other takers for a road trip?

Sat. night went out to the new club with my partner in crime from work Andi. She had a great time and we discovered the vodka, Level 1. Don't know if you have had time to try it yet but it goes down like water and very smooth. We both took our first drink looked at each other and new the rest of the evening would be interested and it was. Let's just say at the end of the evening Andi said she like the drag queen who performed to "Turner Tiner"........Steven and I nearly wet our pants on that one. That goes up there with one of the most memorable nights out. Anywho, check out Level 1....nice stuff.....ask Andi.

I think I mentioned this to some of you before, but I decided I wasn't doing enough for my "family" memebers, So I signed on to help the Bluegrass Fairness project and I am now a "phone captain" and I get to call all those homo friendly people on the organizations contact list to make sure their info is correct and let them know when issues arise in Frankfort that need their attention. I've made a few call already and its all good.

Also, the Wildcats slept through another game last night. Won by 8 not really sure how. Had to have two glasses of wine to cope. Huge Game against BAMA on Sat. If we win we are SEC champs yet again. It will be number 43!!!! Duke, NC or Kansas.........you can't compete with that. We have won more SEC titles than the rest of the league combined!

I think it would only be good karma to start my first rant by talking about my CATS! In regards to this weekends game......Hello, and you can't play like that every game why? What a game and what an even better pre-game. Ashley Judd in her wildcat shirt (minus the pit stains this time) kissing Dicky V's sweaty head..........priceless. Lord, bring national TV to town and every Billy Bob from the holler came down to see it. Thank God most were wearing their teeth.


Oh look, the morally perfect republicans are at it again. First, they have a former gay prostitute turned reporter who asks the president easy questions he can understand and has practiced. Then we learn this weekend that not only was G.W. an alcoholic but smoked his fair share of weed, this according to privately taped conversations with Georgey by a family "friend". You know I still don't get it......just because you have sex with only your wife it makes you and your party morally supreme.

This site was brought to my attention from Michele who received a letter in the mail telling her to visit this site and give them money to stop what they call the homosexual agenda to takeover Kentucky.
